High Schoolers Talk I – Team 1 Explores Technology, Social Media, and Artificial Intelligence

In the High Schoolers Talk I eTwinning project, Team 1 worked on the thought-provoking topic: “Technology, Social Media and the Future of Artificial Intelligence.” Guided by their teacher Bedia Tekşen, the students collaborated across borders to prepare a speech that highlighted both the opportunities and responsibilities of living in a digital age.

Structuring the Speech

The team divided their work into three parts, following the speech template:

  • Ana M. (Sorana's student) introduced the topic, asking “What are the roles of technology, social media and AI in our lives?”

  • Ali (EAFL student) developed the body, sharing facts and examples about how technology, social media, and AI shape our daily experiences.

  • Ecrin (Derya’s student) concluded with a powerful reminder about using technology, social media, and AI responsibly.

Collaborative Writing

The students first drafted their ideas on Google Documents, working together to refine their arguments. The speech template helped them organize their thoughts, attract attention, and ensure their message flowed logically.

 Online Meeting

After drafting, the team joined an online meeting with their teacher. They discussed how to connect the introduction, body, and conclusion into one meaningful speech. This step was crucial for building confidence and ensuring smooth transitions between sections.

 Recording the Video

Once the speech was finalized, each student recorded their part. There were challenges along the way—for example, Ali was at the dormitory and could only work on the video during limited hours at school. The students also had to re-record their parts a few times to get them right. Despite these difficulties, their excitement carried them through.

Finally, the recordings were sent to me and I merged them into a single collaborative video. Watching their voices come together was inspiring—it showed how teamwork and perseverance can overcome obstacles.

Student Achievement

For Team 1, this project was more than just an assignment. It was an opportunity to reflect on the role of technology and AI in society, to practice public speaking, and to collaborate across cultures. Their journey proved that with dedication and teamwork, students can create meaningful speeches that inspire others.

  🟣 Our First Teacher Meeting – High Schoolers Talk I Hi everybody, On 12th November , the partner teachers of our eTwinning project High Schoolers Talk I held their first online kick-off meeting, moderated by Bedia Tekşen from Ercan Akın Science High School. It was a great start! Here’s what we did: We got to know each other and welcomed new partners. We reviewed the project plan and timeline. We shared and discussed task distribution. We clarified the project flow and upcoming steps. And most importantly—we officially began our journey! 🔜 What’s Next? We’ll introduce the project to our students, schools, and parents. We’ll carry out pre-surveys and choose our speaking topics. We’ll teach students about eSafety , copyright issues , and eTwinning rules . Students will prepare short introduction videos and start designing project logos. We’re excited to move forward together and can’t wait to see the creativity and teamwork ahead!
