High Schoolers Talk I – How Mixed Teams Prepared Their Speeches and Videos
One of the most exciting aspects of the High Schoolers Talk I eTwinning project was the way students from Türkiye and Romania collaborated in mixed international teams. Each team was assigned a global topic based on the results of a student survey, and under the guidance of their teachers, they began the journey of turning ideas into meaningful speeches and inspiring videos.

Collaborative Writing
The process
started with students drafting their speeches on Google Documents.
Working together online, they used a shared speech template to structure
their ideas into introduction, body, and conclusion. This template helped them
organize their thoughts, attract the attention of listeners, and ensure their
arguments flowed logically.
Online Meetings
After
drafting, students and teachers held online meetings. These sessions
were crucial for discussing how the different parts could be connected into one
coherent speech. Teachers guided the teams, but students took the lead in
shaping the content, learning to listen to each other and build on one
another’s ideas.
Recording and Editing
Once the
speeches were finalized, students recorded their parts following eSafety
rules. For many, this was their first time speaking in front of a camera
for an international audience. Nervousness quickly turned into excitement as
they realized they were contributing to something bigger than themselves.
The team
teachers then merged the recordings into collaborative videos. Seeing
their voices and perspectives combined into one presentation was a powerful
moment—it showed how teamwork across borders can create something meaningful
and inspiring.
Inspiration for Others
The final
videos are more than just project outcomes; they are examples for other
students. They demonstrate how young people can research, collaborate, and
express their ideas on important global issues. The excitement and pride
students felt throughout the process proved that with guidance and teamwork,
they can achieve remarkable results.
